About Me

As a therapist, my perspective is that I am a passenger in your car. You, the patient, are in the driver seat in that you have the control and agency in your course of therapy. You decide where you want to go, which directions we turn, and how quickly you press forward. In the passenger seat, I can give helpful information and suggestions on direction, I can encourage you forward and support you through the tough journey, and I can show you strategies that have made the journeys of others easier. My job is to provide warmth and kindness to support you in your journey and provide expert counsel on how to navigate to your chosen destination.

More About My Practice

For the issues I specialize in (see below), cognitive and behavioral interventions are the most supported by research for their effectiveness and so I rely heavily on them. These interventions include, but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and its many variations, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).

My Specialties

I have specialist training in providing both outpatient and intensive outpatient services for severe and treatment-resistant OCD and anxiety-related disorders. I also have extensive experience in treating depression and managing chronic medical conditions. Though I am not a trauma specialist, I have worked frequently with trauma-related symptoms as they can co-occur with anxiety disorders. My areas of specialty include:
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder

Body Dysmorphic Disorder

Hoarding Disorder

Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors (Excoriation and Trichotillomania)

Generalized Anxiety Disorder
