Annie Wright, LMFT

is a licensed psychotherapist, an EMDR-Certified therapist and a relational trauma recovery specialist. She founded and runs Evergreen Counseling - a boutique, trauma-informed therapy center in Berkeley, California - where she practices therapy and where she also oversees her staff of 20 trauma therapists who, collectively, see and serve about 450 clients a week. In addition to her direct clinical work, Annie also runs an online course called Hard Families, Good Boundaries - a transformative video-based program that helps folks deal more effectively with the difficult family members who may be in their lives. Finally, Annie is a published mental health author with her opinions appearing in Business Insider, Forbes, NBC, The Huffington Post, Buzzfeed, and more.

Every bit of Annie’s work in the world – her clinical work, the center she founded, the course she runs, and every article she writes - is designed to support those who come from relational trauma backgrounds. It’s her own story and now it’s her life’s work.

Training DESCRIPTION

This presentation is designed to equip clinicians with a comprehensive understanding and practical tools for treating relational trauma within a clinical context. Over the course of three hours, we will delve into the three-phase trauma treatment model: Safety and Stabilization, Processing and Remembrance, and Reconnection and Integration. Each phase is explored through a blend of theoretical frameworks, psychoeducation, research-based interventions, and experiential exercises. The presentation emphasizes the critical role of the therapeutic relationship in establishing safety, techniques for processing trauma narratives safely, and strategies for fostering resilience and post-traumatic growth. By incorporating grounding techniques, trauma processing therapies, and resilience-building exercises, clinicians will gain a holistic toolkit for supporting their clients through the journey of trauma recovery. Interactive components, including role-plays, guided mindfulness, and group discussions, are integrated to facilitate hands-on learning and application of the concepts. This presentation is designed not only to impart knowledge but also to foster a collaborative learning environment where clinicians can share experiences and strategies for enhancing their trauma-informed care practices.
