Those of us who work with trauma survivors face unique challenges. If we are to sustain ourselves in this work, it is imperative that we participate in a community that adequately supports us.
The Trauma Consultation Group aims to provide mental health professionals with ongoing training in traumatic stress disorders. We meet monthly from September through June. The consultation group focuses on the treatment of acute trauma and Complex PTSD.
Chelsea Cogan, Ph.D. leds our Trauma Consultation Group. Dr. Cogna is recognized for her expertise and contributions in the field of trauma, suicidality, and sleep disorders. Dr. Cogan aims to develop a growth oriented therapeutic community that contributes to the education and development of trauma therapists.

Maximum of 8 members in each consultation group (basic and advanced)
Up to 18 CEUs based on attendance to LCSW, LCPC, LCPC-C, PhD and PsyD
Meets monthly via zoom for 2-hours Tuesdays 12-2
Our consultation groups provide trauma therapists a community in which they can deepen skills and reflect on the complexities of working with trauma dynamics.
foundations trauma consultation group
2nd Tuesday of each month 12-2pm
The curriculum will provide the foundation for the treatment of trauma, integrating case consultation, didactic presentations and reflection on vicarious trauma. Topics include: Vicarious Trauma, Resiliency and Assessment, Empathic Alliance and Therapeutic Contracts, Pacing and Affect Regulation, and Attachment Dilemmas.
Have 1-5 years of post-masters psychotherapy experience and are licensed clinicians
Are committed to working with traumatized and marginalized populations

ADVANCED TRAUMA CONSULTATION GROUP
4nd Tuesday of each month 12-2pm
This group is intended for advanced trauma clinicians who want to deepen their skills and engage in a supportive consultation group. This is a safe and introspective space to share and deepen your work with trauma survivors. Members are invited to create goals for the year and the group will collaboratively select a focus area for clinical growth and development.
While continuing to integrate case consultation and reflection on vicarious trauma, the curriculum will focus on the complexities of the therapeutic relationship, with special attention to traumatic transference, counter-transference and empathic strain. Topics include: Traumatic Memory and Dissociation, Victim-Perpetrator Dynamics, and Termination Issues in Trauma Treatment.

$450 annual tuition (up to 18 CEs)
10% discount if paid in full in advance ($405)

Goals of the consultation & training Group:
Focus on the therapeutic complexities of working with trauma survivors by paying special attention to the impact on the therapist.
Provide a safe environment to discuss both the challenging nature of this work and the continuing impact it has on the trauma therapist.
