An online therapy group for adults who want to:

  • Learn more about ADHD, attention, executive functioning, and emotion regulation

  • Connect with others who understand their struggles

  • Develop skills for time and task management, planning, and organization in a supportive, nonjudgmental environment

  • Learn mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) strategies for managing attention, stress, and mood; overcoming avoidance; and improving self-esteem

Who can join?

The online Adult ADHD Skills group at Psychology Specialists of Maine is open to adults 18+ who are located in Maine. An official diagnosis of ADHD is not required. This group may not be a good fit for individuals with active substance use concerns or borderline personality disorder.

When and how does the group meet?

Online Thursdays 10:30am to 12:00pm for 12 weeks beginning in Janaury. The group meets online using a HIPAA compliant telehealth platform.

Fees & insurance? 

We accept Anthem, UBH, Point32Health/Harvard Pilgrim, MaineHealth, and Community Health options insurance.

If you are paying out of pocket and are not using in-network insurance benefits, the fee for the 60-minute group therapy intake screening is $350.00 and the fee for each weekly group session is $75.00. We provide superbills for out of network insurance reimbursement upon request.

Who leads the group? 

Dr. Christie Pickel is a Licensed Psychologist at Psychology Specialists of Maine, specializing in adult ADHD assessment and treatment. Dr. Pickel is passionate about helping adults with ADHD better understand themselves, conquer avoidance, let go of shame, and make sustainable steps towards long-term goals and values. She earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in Child and Adolescent Psychology from Ohio University and completed her Doctoral Internship at Southwest Behavioral & Health Services in Arizona.
