About Me

I believe therapy works best when you feel safe enough to be fully yourself. My goal is to create a warm, supportive, and encouraging space where we can explore your challenges together while recognizing your strengths. I believe that meaningful connection, healthy relationships, and a sense of community are essential to well-being, and therapy can help you build those things—even when life has made them feel difficult.

After a decades-long career as a magazine writer, I made the decision to become a therapist. That journey gave me the opportunity to write about medicine, wellness, parenting, and relationships while also raising a family of my own. Those experiences continue to shape my work today, allowing me to bring both professional training and real-life perspective to the therapy room.

My Practice

I take a strengths-based approach to therapy because I believe every person has abilities, resilience, and potential that deserve as much attention as their struggles. Together, we'll identify what's getting in the way, better understand your experiences, and develop practical strategies that help you move toward the life you want.

I specialize in working with adults with ADHD, including individuals who have been recently diagnosed, have lived with ADHD for years, or suspect ADHD may be contributing to challenges in their daily lives. I understand that ADHD often affects much more than attention. Many of my clients struggle with executive functioning, procrastination, perfectionism, time blindness, task paralysis, emotional regulation, relationship difficulties, anxiety, guilt, shame, and burnout. You don't have to navigate those challenges alone.

I also know that ADHD comes with remarkable strengths. Many of my clients are deeply empathetic, endlessly curious, highly creative, passionate about their interests, and capable of extraordinary focus when they're engaged. My goal is to help you reduce the challenges while learning to recognize and build upon those strengths.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and direct. I have advanced training in Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Motivational Interviewing, and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). ART is a short-term, evidence-based therapy that can help people find relief from traumatic or distressing experiences—including experiences related to years of untreated or late-diagnosed ADHD. For some clients, meaningful relief can occur in just a handful of sessions.

I especially enjoy working with adults who are curious about themselves, motivated to grow, and ready to make lasting changes.
