Live Webinar by Zoom
Adults are increasingly raising questions about Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and clinicians often find themselves addressing these concerns and wondering whether autism helps explain a patient's longstanding experiences and difficulties.
How should clinicians respond to these questions, what features of an adult's presentation warrant further exploration, and when is a formal evaluation appropriate? This conversation will provide an overview of ASD in adulthood, with attention to characteristics that may be overlooked or misunderstood in routine clinical practice and to approaches to diagnosis and referral.
Learning Objectives
As a result of engaging in the presentation, attendees will be able to:
Recognize clinical features and developmental patterns that may suggest autism.
Consider autism in the context of overlapping or alternative explanations, including other mental health conditions.
Understand the adult autism assessment process.
